The Engagement Ring Company began with one simple belief: An American manufacturer can compete on the global stage against any manufacturer in the world by using advances in technology combined with the talents of skilled American craftsmen and women, hard work, and plain old American know-how and ingenuity.  We are a subsidiary of New Gold Jewelry which has been an American family owned source manufacturer for more than 30 years.  New Gold provides large scale private label goods for the likes of Wal Mart, Overstock.com, Quality Gold, Aurafin, Shop NBC, ZaleCorp, and a host of other retailers and wholesalers large and small.  In fact, our Burbank, CA factory produces more than 11,500 finished pieces of jewelry each week.

Given our extensive experience at every level of the US jewelry market, we noticed that with the rise of luxury bridal brands many consumers were being left behind by the extremely high prices of these goods.  As a result, American retailers had sought out cheaper sources for “price point” mountings and bands from Asian and Indian sources.  In the past, the difference in labor costs kept us from offering a competitive product.  Beginning in 2013, we began experimenting with different techniques that would increase productivity exponentially, allow us to continue to pay our artisans the high wages we always have, all the while reducing the average labor cost per piece to a price that would allow us to compete globally.  In October of 2014 we did it.

We created a breakthrough proprietary diamond setting technique.  This revolutionary method of diamond setting quadruples each setter’s daily productivity and reduces labor costs by an average of 80% per piece.  Suddenly, we could produce very high quality diamond semi mounts and diamond bands in large quantities, and at prices never before seen from a US manufacturer.  The Engagement Ring Company was born.
